Job summary

The University of California - San Diego Medical Centers is seeking a Patient Service Representative Lead to oversee front-end duties, coach staff, and coordinate call center, referrals, and authorizations in a busy ambulatory setting.

Under supervision of the Clinic Manager, you will provide training, handle templates, office purchases, and improve processes to support primary care, OBGYN and Express clinic operations. Strong leadership and billing familiarity are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of four (4) years previous related experience; skills, and extensive knowledge of practices, including one (1) year supervisory experience in a large complex healthcare setting.
• Recent (within 2 years) experience in OBGYN clinic.
• Recent (within 2 years) experience in Optometry clinic.
• Recent (within 2 years) Experience in Neurology, Dermatology, Allergy, Rheumatology, Colorectal surgery
• Experience with processing payments for contacts and authorization through eyeinfinity.
• Experience with processing payments for cosmetic procedures.
• Knowledge of computer programs to include Excel, PowerPoint, Graphs, Word.
• Possess the skills, and extensive knowledge of practices in Ambulatory setting.
• Administrative lead experience.
• Front office administration experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and provides leadership and training for front-end duties such as reception, call center, referral and authorizations.
• Serves as a resource for departments including primary care, OBGYN and Express clinic.
• Initiates and participates in improvement efforts impacting the practice.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
