Job summary

Mercy Clinic Neurology is seeking a Patient Service Representative to be the first point of contact for patients and visitors at the Southfork location in St. Louis. The role involves front desk operations, registration, check-in/out, and accurate EHR management.

The PSR will answer phones, schedule appointments, process Good Faith Estimates, and coordinate with providers to maintain smooth clinic flow. Strong communication, data entry, and confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; customer service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance, and billing processes.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients; verify identity and manage check-in/check-out
• Answer phones and perform clerical tasks including Epic charting, scanning, faxing, and document handling
• Schedule appointments, procedures, and testing; provide timely estimates and Good Faith Estimates
• Monitor provider schedules, communicate delays, and coordinate with staff to ensure efficient clinic flow
• Maintain accurate registration, EHRs, and assigned work queues
• Handle patient concerns professionally and elevate as needed
• Manage daily cash drawer, accounts receivable tasks, and payment plans
• Support EPIC updates, departmental initiatives, and clinic communications
• Maintain a safe, clean reception area and adhere to safety, privacy, and infection control policies
• Perform other duties as assigned
