Job summary

Qualifications

• Strong organizational and analytical skills; able to identify and solve problems.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, commercial and government health insurance and billing guidelines, ACA requirements, understanding of DRG's, Medical ICD9/ICD10 codes and CPT/HCPC Codes and Modifiers are required.
• 2 year experience customer service or healthcare/medical office environment.

Responsibilities

• Gather information for patient registration including assigning MRN.
• Schedule and reschedule complex procedures and appointments.
• Initiate authorizations and referrals; process payer interactions.
• Collect payments and perform end-of-day reconciliation.
• Verify patient demographics and insurance; ensure forms are signed.
• Respond to billing inquiries and escalate to leadership as needed.
