Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Scheduler in Ohio to coordinate patient testing and procedures, interacting with physician offices and staff to schedule as soon as possible. You will enter patient data into the system and perform general office tasks, potentially serving as receptionist.

The role requires attention to detail, ability to verify patient information and stay compliant with hospital policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in business, Healthcare, or related field preferred.
• 2 years of scheduling and payroll experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, posts, and distributes daily schedules and updates changes.
• Maintains staffing levels and communicates needs to supervisor and Director.
• Reviews attendance and payroll records and handles PTO approvals as per policy.
• Verifies patient information, equipment needs, and scheduling details with staff and Registration/Admitting.
• Ensures correct orders, diagnosis, and clinical history are entered into the system.
• Provides guidance on test preparation and scheduling questions to patients and staff.
• Maintains patient records and compiles attendance and census data.
• Obtains insurance pre-authorization and completes registration functions as needed.
• Verifies patient identification per hospital policy and safety standards.
