Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience in scheduling, registration and financial clearance preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Schedule procedures at the correct facility/time and document pre-certification when available.
• Obtain/validate patient demographics and insurance information; assign payer code.
• Pre-register patients with correct medical record number for safety.
• Perform insurance verification and eligibility checks.
• Calculate patient liabilities and collect payments.
• Process physician orders and perform medical necessity checks per LCD; notify ABN needs.
• Front desk duties: check-in and escort to reception; correct registration errors.
• Resolve scheduling/registration issues and demonstrate problem solving.
