Intermountain Health is hiring a Security Officer to provide a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff at Lutheran Hospital in Wheat Ridge, CO. The role focuses on monitoring security systems, enforcing policies, responding to emergencies, and guiding staff during incidents.

The position requires vigilance in de-escalation, safe handling of violent situations, and collaboration with HR and law enforcement.

Qualificações

• Current Driver’s License (if applicable for the role).
• Current Basic Life Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers or willing to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• At least 21 years of age.
• If located in the State of Montana Security Guard Licensure is required within 120 days of hire.

Responsabilidades

• Operate and monitor security systems including surveillance cameras, access control, and alarms.
• De-escalation: use verbal and non-verbal strategies to calm individuals and resolve conflicts peacefully.
• Intervene to protect safety when patients act violently, including using restraints when necessary.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance when reporting crimes or incidents, disclosing only the minimum necessary information to law enforcement.
• Respond to bomb threats and suspicious packages following protocols for safety.
• Participate in drills such as infant abduction and active shooter scenarios.
• Conduct respectful searches of patients and narcotics, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
• Perform safety inspections of walking surfaces, fire extinguishers, and overall facility safety.
• Enforce parking regulations to ensure safety and accessibility.
• Collaborate with HR and law enforcement to conduct investigations following protocols.
