Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a Security Officer to maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, employees and volunteers in a hospital setting. The role monitors security systems, conducts inspections, and responds to emergencies while enforcing policy and safeguarding property.

The position involves de-escalation, handling potentially violent situations, and coordinating with HR and law enforcement as needed.

Qualifications

• Current Driver’s License (if applicable for the role).
• Current Basic Life Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers or willing to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• At least 21 years of age.
• If located in the State of Montana Security Guard Licensure is required within 120 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor security technology systems (CCTV, access control, alarms).
• De-escalation and conflict resolution to minimize force.
• Respond to emergencies and protect patients, staff, visitors.
• Conduct searches and safety inspections.
• Investigate incidents with HR and law enforcement following protocols.
• Enforce parking regulations and ensure safe access.
