Job summary

TouchPoint Support Services is hiring for a Patient Observation Assistant in a healthcare setting in Panama City, FL. The role is available for both full-time and part-time schedules, with rotating weekends/holidays and a fixed pay rate of $16.00 per hour.

Training is provided, and prior related experience is preferred but not required. Provides visual/audible observation under RN direction, completes reports, and ensures patient safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent is required.
• CPR AED or BLS-HCP certification within 30 days of hire, if required.
• Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods; lift up to 50 pounds.
• One to two years of previous experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient condition and behavior visually and audibly at all times.
• Complete observation reports at established intervals.
• Interact with staff, patients, visitors and colleagues in a hospitable and supportive manner.
• Remain at the bedside unless relieved by a staff member.
• Redirect at-risk behavior and escalate to medical staff when needed.
• Participate in identifying and reporting patient safety issues.
• Keep patient environment safe and report hazards to nursing staff.
• Assist with calming and reorienting patients as needed.
• Help with meal setup and basic positioning; assist with ambulation if safe.
• Respond rapidly to emergencies and follow department policies.
