Job summary

Compass Group USA is hiring for a part-time Patient Observation Assistant in Middleburg, FL. The role provides visual and audible monitoring of assigned patients under RN direction, with shift variability across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts.

A fixed pay rate of $15.00 per hour is offered, with online applications accepted. The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent; CPR AED/BLS-HCP certification within 30 days may be required at some facilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current CPR AED or BLS-HCP certification within 30 days of hire is required.
• Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods; lift up to 50 pounds.
• One to two years of previous experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Visually and audibly monitors the assigned patient's condition and behavior at all times.
• Completes observation reports at established interval.
• Interacts with staff, patients, visitors and colleagues in a cordial, supportive manner.
• Remains at the bedside of the patient unless relieved by staff.
• Escalates to nursing staff when patient distress or unsafe behavior occurs.
• Assists with keeping patient environment safe and orderly.
• Assists with dietary tray orders and meal setup as needed.
• Responds rapidly to emergencies and follows department policies.
