Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Patient Observer to provide constant observation for patients at risk to themselves or others. You will work under the direction of the RN and perform essential care-related tasks while maintaining patient confidentiality.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, BLS certification (or within 30 days), and strong communication with patients and families. The position involves light to sedentary activity with potential for variable shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience required.
• AHA BLS Certification required, or obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Assures a safe care environment for assigned patients and notifies RN of any concerns.
• Receives and conveys patient handoffs between observers and RN.
• Observes patients for behavior changes and notifies RN of concerns.
• Completes required documentation and annual trainings as assigned.
