Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Southbridge, MA is seeking a Patient Safety Observer to ensure patient safety and comfort while supporting the care team. You will perform continuous safety observations, document findings, and communicate with licensed staff.

The role may involve assisting with activities of daily living and, when directed, transporting patients. The position is non-exempt with day shift hours and a variable schedule.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• CPR certification within 6 months of hire is required to be eligible for this role.
• Previous healthcare experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous safety observation of patients to ensure safety and comfort.
• Maintain 15-minute checks with documentation while on shift.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living as directed by nursing staff.
• Document all observations and report issues to the licensed clinical staff immediately.
• May transport patients as directed by the licensed staff in charge.
