Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Patient Safety Observer to provide continuous safety monitoring for assigned patients, ensuring comfort and security. You may assist with activities of daily living and engage with patients as appropriate, documenting all care and reporting concerns to the licensed staff.

The role includes 12-hour night shifts (7p-7a), weekend rotation, and potential for a signing bonus. CP R certification within 6 months is required or preferred, and a high school diploma is

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR Certification within 6 months of hire preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous safety observation of assigned patients.
• Support patients with activities of daily living as directed by nursing.
• Maintain 15-minute safety checks with documentation.
• Monitor visitors to prevent unsafe materials from reaching patients.
• Follow directions of the nurse in charge and assist with patient transport as needed.
• Document and communicate issues to the designated staff.
