Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking a patient meal service staff member to perform a variety of duties in our hospital dining program. You will serve meals to patients, rotate floor supplies, and ensure meals are prepared and delivered according to dietary orders.

You will communicate with nursing staff, use computerized diet sheets, record intake and calories, process meal orders by phone, and help maintain HACCP compliance. On-the-job training provided; daytime shifts with 40 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Direct customer service experience preferred.
• Previous food service experience and/or work with therapeutic diets preferred.
• On-the-job training provided.

Responsibilities

• Communicates effectively with nursing staff, nutrition techs, dietitians and call center staff.
• Uses computerized diet sheets and accesses the patient computer system.
• Retrieves completed meals from patients' rooms and records intake and calories.
• Maintains HACCP guidelines and food safety standards.
• Obtains and processes meal orders from patients and visitors over the telephone.
• Ensures meals meet diet order parameters and provides appropriate menu options.
