Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with 1 year of relevant experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, HIM or related field preferred.
• 2-4 years of relevant experience; strong communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and claims processing software; familiarity with EHR and practice management systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist with insurance registration and patient check-in processes.
• Explain billing process to patients and collect co-payments.
• Post payments and deposit funds; verify active insurance on file.
• Coordinate patient billing and reimbursement; manage accounts receivable and collections.
• Review aged patient accounts before submission to Bursar for collections.
