Job summary

Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center in Rome, GA is seeking a Registration Clerk (PRN) to interview patients, collect demographic and insurance information, and complete registrations with accurate data entry in the STAR HBOC system. You will obtain signatures, explain forms, and collect co-pays as part of routine admissions.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, six months in a related field, and comfort with office equipment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Post secondary education in a business related field is preferred.
• Six months or more working in a related field.
• Ability to use office equipment such as computer, fax, phone and copier.

Responsibilities

• Accurately interviews patients and obtains or edits all required demographic information.
• Verifies patient address and correct spelling of address.
• Completes registrations timely, following procedures on “problem orders”.
• Obtains patient signatures for consent for treatment, notice of privacy practice, financial assistance, appeal form pharmacy form; gives patient copy of forms.
• Accurately enters insurance information. Obtains and scans copies of insurance cards, picture ID, and Physician Orders into system.
• Informs patient of co-pays and deductibles due, collecting deposit on account. Documents reasons for noncollect.
• Obtains UB92 information and enters required codes.
• Verifies Medicare eligibility dates and scans verification into system.
• Verifies procedures and diagnosis codes in Omega for outpatient services and completes ABN.
• Registers patients according to the correct “Patient Type” and obtains complete physician orders at registration.
• Enters notes in computer on each patient with relevant information.
