Job summary

Illinois CancerCare in Peoria is seeking a friendly Patient Registrar to join our front office team. You will manage patient check-in, verify insurance, collect information, and ensure a smooth registration experience while delivering excellent customer service.

The role involves completing registrations, signing HIPAA and financial documents, and coordinating with billing and authorization teams to keep records accurate and up to date.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in a medical office setting preferred.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Complete New Patient registration for Peoria patients, collect and verify information, obtain signatures, update EMR & billing software.
• Explain and obtain signatures on Patient Financial Agreement, HIPAA Privacy Notice, E-Prescribing Consent, and Release of Medical Information.
• Review schedules for eReg paperwork and Demographics completeness prior to appointments.
• Review Real Time eligibility for changes of insurance and notify authorization teams.
• Contact patients to schedule or obtain additional information.
• Monitor insurance changes and coordinate with authorization teams for review.
• Identify indigent or reimbursement issues and inform Financial Advocate.
• Assist with basic billing questions, walk-in patients, and year-end insurance rush.
• Assist with duties of all positions of the Patient Registration Team.
