Job summary

St. Elizabeth Healthcare in the United States is seeking a Registration Specialist to move patients through service departments and enable timely billing for services rendered.

You will interview patients and families to obtain accurate financial and demographic information, verify insurance, estimate outpatient charges, collect amounts due, scan documents, and obtain required signatures while upholding patient confidentiality and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Excellent customer service track record.
• Able to navigate Microsoft Office and EPIC.
• Strong typing and data-entry skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients/family to obtain accurate financial and demographic info.
• Verify insurance via online eligibility to minimize denials.
• Prepare charge estimates for outpatient exams to determine liability.
• Collect sums due from patients and ensure timely billing.
• Scan documents and obtain signatures; manage required forms.
• Follow AIDET, greet patients and maintain confidentiality.
• Provide wheelchair assistance and transport as needed.
• Cross-train across Registration areas and relocate per volumes.
• Keep knowledge current; read notices, attend meetings.
• Perform other related duties as needed.
