Job summary

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is seeking a part-time registration clerk to support patient flow and billing processes. You will collect accurate demographics, verify insurance, and determine patient liability for services and visits in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

You’ll use EPIC and other systems to process information, provide courteous service, and maintain confidentiality while assisting patients, families, and staff across departments.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of excellent customer service skills.
• Must be able to navigate computer systems (EPIC, Microsoft Office, registration systems).
• Good typing skills and data entry accuracy.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities with the public.
• Maintain patient confidentiality in all interactions.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients/family to obtain accurate financial and demographic information.
• Verify insurance and determine payer entries to minimize denials.
• Prepare charge estimates for outpatients to determine liability.
• Collect amounts due from patients and ensure timely billing.
• Scan documents, obtain signatures, and complete required forms.
• Adhere to AIDET principles when greeting patients and visitors.
• Provide wheelchair assistance and transport as needed.
• Cross-train across registration areas and relocate as needed.
• Attend department meetings and complete required trainings.
