Job summary

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Registration Clerk to support patient access and billing processes in our admissions area. You will verify insurance, collect balances, and help patients navigate our registration systems with care and courtesy.

Role requires strong customer service, data entry and confidentiality. You may assist in multiple registration areas and participate in ongoing training and departmental meetings to ensure a smooth patient experience.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of excellent customer service skills.
• Must be able to navigate through computer systems (Microsoft Office, registration systems, EPIC).
• Good typing skills / data entry skills.
• Good interpersonal skills (work with the public).
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Maintain patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients/family to obtain accurate financial and demographic information.
• Verifies insurance through online system to minimize denials.
• For outpatients, estimates charges to determine patient liability.
• Collects any amount due from the patient.
• Scans all documents and obtains signatures.
• Completes forms required by payers.
• Greets and assists patients following AIDET principles while protecting confidentiality.
• Provides wheelchair assistance and transports as needed.
• Cross-trains to other registration areas and relocates as needed.
• Keeps knowledge up-to-date on procedures and attends department meetings.
