Job summary

Fisher-Titus in Norwalk, Ohio is seeking a Registration Representative to support the 2nd shift for the emergency department and related services. The role handles patient registrations, insurance verification, data entry, and point-of-service collections with a focus on service excellence.

You will greet patients, verify information, coordinate with care teams, and help maintain accurate electronic records while adhering to HIPAA and hospital policies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required
• Associate's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or related field desired
• At least 3-5 years of customer service, administrative, and/or data entry experience required
• At least 3 years of experience in a healthcare environment preferred
• Knowledge of database software applications desired
• Customer service, teamwork, and conflict resolution skills
• Efficient time management skills and ability to multi-task
• Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
• Demonstrated skills in organization, planning, coordinating, and collaborating
• Strong understanding and comfort level with computer systems and Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

• Greet and register emergency department patients in a professional, compassionate, and timely manner
• Field incoming calls, respond to patient/staff inquiries, and initiate triage notifications when necessary
• Coordinate and record today’s expected arrival queue with accuracy
• Manage registrations for emergency, trauma, behavior health, direct admissions, transfer, and critical care patients
• Provide assistance and direction to patients, families and visitors with empathy and de-escalation during emotional situations
• Gather and verify confidential health and financial information and ensure payment for services
