Fisher-Titus is seeking a Part-Time Patient Access Rep I for Norwalk Pediatrics to support front-desk operations and patient data flow. You will schedule appointments, verify insurance, entry patient information, and collect payments while upholding HIPAA guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field desired.
• 3–5 years of customer service, administrative and/or data entry experience required.
• Healthcare environment experience preferred.
• Knowledge of database software applications desired.
• Customer service, teamwork and conflict resolution skills.
• Efficient time management and ability to multi-task.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Organizational and collaborative abilities.
• Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Promptly handles incoming calls and directs inquiries as needed.
• Coordinates and records appointment times; tracks scheduling to avoid over- or under-booking.
• Ensures registration and admission forms are ready for arrival.
• Greet patients and staff with professional customer service and discretion.
• Collects and verifies confidential health and financial information; ensures payment for services.
• Enters new patient data and verifies records in the EMR; maintains filing as per system.
• Complies with HIPAA and all privacy regulations.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and benefits; obtains pre-authorizations as required.
• Verifies medical necessity per CMS standards and communicates coverage details to patients.
• Maintains records of authorizations within the electronic health record.
• Understands insurance referrals, co-pays and deductibles.
• Maintains safe environment and follows safety policies.
• Performs additional duties and clerical tasks as assigned.
