Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a Registration Coordinator to expertly manage physician scheduling, pre-registration, and insurance verification processes. You will gather accurate demographic and insurance information to support clinical and financial needs and schedule return appointments as assigned.

You will assist clinical staff and patients by providing up-to-date information on services, procedures and requirements, while coordinating requests to satisfy patient

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 6 months minimum experience in customer service or a healthcare environment.
• PC knowledge and strong verbal and written communication.
• Experience with Windows, Excel and intranet navigation; medical terminology and third party reimbursement experience; ability to work in multiple systems; strong problem-solving and presentation skills; high level of customer service; ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with physician appointment scheduling, OR/admission, pre-registration and registration.
• Verify insurance details and determine patient liability; inform patients of procedures.
• Provide accurate information on products, services and procedures to clinical staff and patients.
• Coordinate return or other appointments and ensure data accuracy in demographic and insurance fields.
• Support physicians and staff by handling requests and directing questions to appropriate channels.
• Maintain proficiency in EMR, scheduling, ABN, eligibility and document management systems.
