Job summary

Children's of Alabama is seeking an Access Center Clerk to handle pre-registration verification, scheduling, and follow-up tasks. You will collect co-pays, enter orders, and verify patient accounts while collaborating with bed placement coordinators in a multidisciplinary clinical setting.

The role requires flexibility to work across multiple locations and shifts, with a day schedule Monday–Friday and potential weather/evacuation coverage as needed. Prior SMS/Invision experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• At least 1 year of staff-level experience in care admin registration is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-registration verification and scheduling.

In Patient Registration Clinics at Main Campus McWane Building

Work schedule will be Full-time on the Day Shift, Monday-Friday 7:30-4:00 /8:00-4:30/7:45-4:15.

Summary

Responsible for performing multiple customer-focused Access Center tasks (pre-registration verification, pre-admission, limited financial counseling, scheduling and follow up appointments, co-pay collection, collaborate with bed placement coordinators, order entry, account verification and updates, urgent registrations). Responsible for working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary clinical setting. Must be flexible and willing to work in different physical locations and roles as needed to meet customer needs. Expected to report as needed during periods of inclement weather, disasters, and state's of emergency.

Other information

Ability to work independently. Prefer knowledge/exp. with SMS/Invision and one-year previous work experience with automated scheduling and registration applications preferred.
