Job summary

Children’s of Alabama seeks a Part-time Access Center staff member to perform pre-registration verification, scheduling and follow-up appointments with a focus on customer service. The role supports co-pay collection and account verification in a multidisciplinary clinical setting.

Based at the Main Campus in downtown Birmingham, the candidate must be flexible to work across locations and shifts, with a day shift pattern and limited Friday work.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of experience in care admin registration preferred.
• Knowledge of SMS/Invision and automated scheduling a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-registration verification and scheduling tasks.
• Assist with co-pay collection and account verification.
• Coordinate with bed placement and multidisciplinary team as needed.
• Support multiple locations and roles to meet patient needs.
• Handle follow-up appointments and entry of orders.

In Patient Registration Clinics at Main Campus McWane Building

Work schedule will be Part-time Benefits Eligible on the Day Shift, Mon-Thu 8:00-1:00 off most Fridays.

Summary

Responsible for performing multiple customer-focused Access Center tasks (pre-registration verification, pre-admission, limited financial counseling, scheduling and follow up appointments, co-pay collection, collaborate with bed placement coordinators, order entry, account verification and updates, urgent registrations). Responsible for working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary clinical setting. Must be flexible and willing to work in different physical locations and roles as needed to meet customer needs. Expected to report as needed during periods of inclement weather, disasters, and state's of emergency.

Other information

Ability to work independently. Prefer knowledge/exp. with SMS/Invision and one-year previous work experience with automated scheduling and registration applications preferred.
