Job summary

Dignity Health - Mark Twain Medical Center is seeking a Patient Registration Representative to ensure a positive patient experience during registration. You will collect demographics, verify insurance, determine financial liability, explain hospital policies, and provide excellent customer service.

Key tasks include entering data into the ADT system accurately, identifying patients to avoid duplicate records, and ensuring documentation meets CMS requirements for compliance and reimbursement.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED.
• Minimum one year of experience in a hospital Patient Registration department, physician office setting, healthcare insurance company, revenue cycle vendor, and/or other revenue cycle related roles.

Responsibilities

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of registration requirements across areas (Main Admitting, OP Registration, ED Registration, Maternity, Rehabilitation).
• Enter demographic information accurately into the ADT system at registration.
• Verify patient identity to prevent duplicate medical record numbers.
• Review accounts to ensure accuracy and obtain required documentation.
• Meet CMS billing requirements and document completion in the system for compliance.
• Enter required data into the ADT system with emphasis on accurate demographics and financial information.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As our Patient Registration Representative, you will ensure a positive patient experience during registration, employing excellent customer service.

Every day you will identify patients, collect accurate demographics, verify insurance, determine/collect financial liability, and explain hospital policies and patient rights to families.

To be successful, you will demonstrate exceptional customer service, meticulous attention to detail in data/insurance, and strong communication, crucial for patient satisfaction and reimbursement.

• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of specific registration requirements for all areas, including but not limited to: Main Admitting, OP Registration, ED Registration, Maternity, and Rehabilitation units
• Ensures complete, accurate and timely entry of demographic information into the ADT system at the time of registration.
• Properly identifies the patient to ensure medical record numbers are not duplicated.
• Responsible for reviewing assigned accounts to ensure accuracy and required documentation is obtained and complete.
• Meet CMS billing requirements for the completion of the MSP, issuance of the Important Message from Medicare, issuance of the Observation Notice, and other requirements, as applicable and documenting completion within the hospital's information system for regulatory compliance and audit purposes
• Collects and enters required data into the ADT system with emphasis on accuracy of demographic and financial information in order to ensure appropriate reimbursement.

We are offering a $1,000 sign on bonus to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements.

Pay Range

$24.47 - $27.51 /hour
