Job summary

Dignity Health - Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital in Grass Valley, California, seeks a Patient Registration Representative to provide a welcoming check-in experience, collect accurate demographics, verify insurance and explain hospital policies to families.

You will ensure timely entry into the ADT system, confirm patient identity to prevent duplicates, and support CMS and billing compliance while delivering outstanding customer service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year experience in hospital patient registration or related revenue cycle roles preferred.
• Strong communication and data-entry accuracy essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of registration requirements across care areas such as Main Admitting, OP Registration, ED Registration, Maternity, and Rehabilitation.
• Ensure accurate and timely entry of demographics into the ADT system at registration.
• Accurately identify patients to prevent duplicate medical record numbers.
• Review assigned accounts for accuracy and required documentation.
• Meet CMS billing requirements and document completion in the hospital information system for regulatory compliance.
• Enter required data into the ADT system with emphasis on demographic and financial accuracy for proper reimbursement.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Patient Registration Representative, you will ensure a positive patient experience during registration, employing excellent customer service.

Every day you will identify patients, collect accurate demographics, verify insurance, determine/collect financial liability, and explain hospital policies and patient rights to families.

To be successful, you will demonstrate exceptional customer service, meticulous attention to detail in data/insurance, and strong communication, crucial for patient satisfaction and reimbursement.

Responsibilities

• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of specific registration requirements for all areas, including but not limited to: Main Admitting, OP Registration, ED Registration, Maternity, and Rehabilitation units.
• Ensures complete, accurate and timely entry of demographic information into the ADT system at the time of registration.
• Properly identifies the patient to ensure medical record numbers are not duplicates.
• Responsible for reviewing assigned accounts to ensure accuracy and required documentation is obtained and complete.
• Meet CMS billing requirements for the completion of the MSP, issuance of the Important Message from Medicare, issuance of the Observation Notice, and other requirements, as applicable and documenting completion within the hospital's information system for regulatory compliance and audit purposes.
• Collects and enters required data into the ADT system with emphasis on accuracy of demographic and financial information in order to ensure appropriate reimbursement.

Job Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum one (1) year of experience working in a hospital Patient Registration department, physician office setting, healthcare insurance company, revenue cycle vendor, and/or other revenue cycle related roles
