Job summary

St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard, California is seeking a Patient Registration Representative. You will ensure a positive patient experience during registration, collecting accurate demographics, verifying insurance, and explaining hospital policies to families.

You will maintain up-to-date knowledge of registration requirements across multiple hospital areas and ensure accurate data entry in the ADT system at the point of care.

Qualifications

• High school education and/or GED required.
• 1 year of experience in hospital Patient Registration or related roles.
• Other applicable education and/or training can balance lack of experience.

Responsibilities

• Identify patients and collect accurate demographics at registration.
• Verify insurance information and determine/collect financial liability.
• Explain hospital policies and patient rights to families.
• Enter demographic data into the ADT system accurately at registration time.
• Ensure patient identification to avoid duplicate medical record numbers.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Patient Registration Representative, you will ensure a positive patient experience during registration, employing excellent customer service.

Every day you will identify patients, collect accurate demographics, verify insurance, determine/collect financial liability, and explain hospital policies and patient rights to families.

To be successful, you will demonstrate exceptional customer service, meticulous attention to detail in data/insurance, and strong communication, crucial for patient satisfaction and reimbursement.

• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of specific registration requirements for all areas, including but not limited to: Main Admitting, OP Registration, ED Registration, Maternity, and Rehabilitation units.
• Ensures complete, accurate and timely entry of demographic information into the ADT system at the time of registration
• Properly identifies the patient to ensure medical record numbers are not duplicated.
• Responsible for reviewing assigned accounts to ensure accuracy and required documentation is obtained and complete
• Meet CMS billing requirements for the completion of the MSP, issuance of the Important Message from Medicare, issuance of the Observation Notice, and other requirements, as applicable and documenting completion within thehospital's information system for regulatory compliance and audit purposes.

• High School Graduate General Studies and Minimum 1 year of experience working in a hospital Patient Registration department, physician office setting, healthcare insurance company, revenue cyclevendor, and/or other revenue cycle related roles., upon hire or
• High School GED General Studies and Minimum 1 year of experience working in a hospital Patient Registration department, physician office setting, healthcare insurance company, revenue cyclevendor, and/or other revenue cycle related roles., upon hire or
• Other Applicable education and/or training can be used to balance a lack of experience., upon hire and

Preferred
