Job summary

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1 year of experience in patient admitting/registration or insurance eligibility verification preferred.
  • EPIC training/experience preferred.
  • Experience with insurance payor systems and ICD-10 terminology preferred.
  • Strong computer skills and MS Office proficiency.
  • Ability to deliver excellent customer service by phone, in person, and in writing.
  • Willingness to train others and handle multitasking in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and set a welcoming tone at the front desk.
  • Register new patients and update existing patient and insurance info.

Shift: Afternoons

Be the first and most important touchpoint for our patients! As a Patient Registration Representative, you\'ll master the art of creating welcoming first impressions while expertly managing the critical details that keep our patient access running smoothly. Working under general supervision, you\'ll execute all patient registration activities with precision and care—from warm face-to-face check-ins and preregistration to insurance verification and payment collection.

What You\'ll Do:
  • Champion the patient experience by serving as the welcoming front door—setting the tone for their entire visit through genuine, efficient interactions
  • Execute new patient registrations and seamlessly update existing patient and insurance information with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Verify insurance eligibility and navigate complex payor systems to ensure patients understand their coverage and financial responsibilities
  • Advocate for patients\' needs, troubleshooting inquiries and concerns from callers and customers with empathy and problem-solving expertise
  • Manage cash collections professionally while maintaining patient trust and satisfaction
  • Respond promptly and professionally to all inquiries via phone, in person, and in writing, building loyalty through exceptional customer relationship management
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple priorities and frequent interruptions while maintaining accuracy and composure
  • Mentor and instruct colleagues, sharing best practices and contributing to a culture of excellence

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
  • One (1) year of experience related to patient admitting, registration and/or insurance eligibility and verification in a hospital or medical office setting preferred.
  • EPIC training/experience preferred.
  • Insurance payor systems experience preferred. ICD-10 medical terminology experience preferred.
  • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards, and behaviors effectively over the telephone, in person and in writing with patients, visitors and clinical/non-clinical staff.
  • Must be willing and able to instruct others.
  • Ability to perform a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
