Job summary

The Saint Francis Healthcare System seeks a Registration Specialist to manage check-in, preregistration, registration, preadmission and admission processes. You will collect demographics, verify insurance, obtain signatures, and scan documents into the medical record to support accurate patient accounts.

You will also assist with scheduling, authorizations and referrals as needed, maintain smooth patient flow, and ensure adherence to CMS and Joint Commission guidelines while delivering quality

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a business, billing, or healthcare scheduling/registration/admissions setting preferred.
• Must maintain professional and courteous manners in dealing with customers and staff.
• Ability to proficiently utilize a computer and software programs.

Responsibilities

• Handle check-in, preregistration, registration, preadmission and admission.
• Obtain demographics, insurance information, signatures, and scan into medical records.
• Answer calls, fax, scan, and support scheduling/authorization/referrals as needed.
• Promote efficient flow of patients and maximize reimbursement while complying with regulations.
