Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Revenue Cycle Patient Access Representative I to register patients for scheduled and unscheduled services, verify demographic and insurance information, and ensure accurate account data prior to billing.

In this role you will explain patient financial liability, help triage to financial programs, and serve as the primary liaison between patients and the facility, delivering courteous service in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 2 years customer service experience or 1 year health insurance related experience preferred.
• Experience in hospital precertification and benefit/eligibility verification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Registers patients for scheduled and unscheduled services, including inpatient and outpatient procedures.
• Collects or verifies demographic and insurance information accurately.
• Verifies insurance coverage and updates patient accounts.
• Completes required documentation in the registration system.
• Explains patient financial liability and guides patients into financial programs when appropriate.
• Escalates patient financial concerns as needed.
• Assists patients and visitors with wayfinding and supports staff during downtime.
• Maintains accuracy and completes workqueues as needed.
