Job summary

MainStreet Family Care in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Support Team Specialist (full-time) to join our in-office team. You will be the first point of contact for patients, guiding them through registration and check-in on kiosks, verify insurance coverage, and respond to patient inquiries with empathy and accuracy.

You will handle follow-up support, help with billing questions, and manage referrals and medical records as needed, all while staying organized in our ticketing system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 1+ year of professional office or customer service experience.
• Tech-savvy and comfortable using multiple programs and hardware.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Positive, team-oriented attitude with a passion for helping others.
• Knowledge of referrals, medical records, insurance verification or medical billing processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Kiosk assistance: guide patients through registration and check-in on clinic kiosks.
• Verify insurance eligibility and determine co-payments before patient arrival.
• Provide follow-up support by answering calls and responding to inquiries professionally.
• Assist with billing tasks, process payments, issue refunds, and resolve patient balance questions.
• Use the internal ticketing portal to manage requests and stay organized.
