Responsibilities

• Register, admit, transfer, and discharge patients efficiently and maintain accurate billing records.
• Serve as hospital receptionist and operate communications systems in line with HIPAA.
• Maintain inpatient roster and report admissions and discharges daily.
• Explain payment options and refer unusual cases to supervisor.
• Process patient billing and maintain records promptly.
• Explain insurance benefits within HIPAA guidelines.
• Handle cashier duties and balance drawer daily.
• Print claims daily and manage patient records in STAR system.
• Contact insurers and providers for billing information.
• Assist with chart preparation and file records in Medical Records.
• Verify daily charges and accuracy.
• Attend workshops to stay updated on duties.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
