Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding and ICD9 coding.
• Must be well organized and able to work under stressful conditions.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and determine their needs, offering assistance.
• Register patients and prepare records, notices, service charge slips, and payor information.
• Interview patients or guardians to determine payment arrangements and refer unusual cases.
• Assist self-pay patients with balance arrangements.
• Explain insurance benefits and answer patient account inquiries.
