Job summary

Austin Regional Clinic, a large multi-location medical group in Central Texas, is hiring for a patient access and billing specialist. You will answer calls, collect insurance information, and help set up new patient accounts to ensure clean claims.

The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and HIPAA compliance. Regular hours Monday–Friday 8:00am–5:00pm with benefits including PTO, 401(k), and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Required: High school diploma or GED; experience with admitting/registration, insurance claims, or customer service.
• Preferred: 1+ year of medical billing customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Answer inbound calls and collect insurance and demographic information to set up patient accounts.
• Verify insurance coverage and set up new members for all contracts; update information as needed.
• Run registration reports and follow up on missing information to complete the registration process.
• Process payments via credit card and online portal and return calls to follow up with patients.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and professional communication with coworkers.
