Job summary

Austin Regional Clinic in Austin, TX is seeking a Patient Service Coordinator to join our busy patient access team. You will perform front desk duties, register patients, verify insurance, process referrals and authorizations, and support scheduling and billing workflows.

This role requires excellent communication, basic knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA compliance, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Familiarity with ICD and CPT coding.
• Knowledge of medical insurance, appointments and collections.
• Keyboarding ability and proficient PC skills.
• Ability to work in a team and manage priorities.

Responsibilities

• Performs all Patient Service Coordinator tasks and can train entry level staff.
• Assists front desk duties: phones, appointments, check-in/out, deposits.
• Registers patients and collects insurance/demographic information.
• Generates referrals and authorizations.
• Maintains end-of-day processing and documentation.
• Verifies MyChart scheduling accuracy and resolves account issues.
• Performs charge entry and communicates coding issues with providers.
• Supports training of staff and adheres to HIPAA and OSHA policies.
