Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a Patient Registrar I-AC to coordinate the encounter or episode process, registration, and data capture at the point of service. This PRN clerical role focuses on accurate documentation, insurance verification, and patient signatures while guiding patients through e-signature documents.

You will manage lobby flow, respond to questions about billing and hospital operations, and refer complex cases to Financial Advocacy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of nine months in office, healthcare, or customer service.
• Must pass EPIC competency for Registration after training.

Responsibilities

• Resolve complaints in the moment using appropriate phrases and escalate when needed.
• Manage conflicts and request supervisor help as required.
• Monitor lobby areas for cleanliness and comfort for patients and families.
• Keep patients informed of delays during registration.
• Perform patient registration and collect accurate data.
• Explain e-signature documents and provide printed copies during each registration.
• Answer questions on hospital operations, policies, and billing basics.
• Verify demographic data and insurance elements.
• Check insurance eligibility via electronic tools.
• Collect identified financial obligations and refer uninsured to Financial Advocacy.
• Balance cash according to PMG policies daily.
