Job summary

Sante Health System is seeking a full-time Referral Coordinator for our UroGynecology Specialty Center Recreation Office in Fresno, CA. The role coordinates specialist referrals, schedules patient appointments, and obtains required prior authorizations to ensure smooth care delivery.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, at least one year in a medical office, and familiarity with medical terminology and insurance products. Strong communication and computer skills are essential to success.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year work experience, preferably in a medical office.
• Experience with medical terminology and insurance products desirable.
• Proficient with word processing and computer use.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments with specialists or fax referral information.
• Prepare and send required information to specialists prior to appointments.
• Contact patients with appointment details.
• Contact insurance companies for patient benefit information and pre-authorizations.
• Answer referral follow-up calls in a timely manner.
• Maintain up-to-date specialist list for HMO patients.
• Record referral information in patient charts.
