Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; BLS certification required.
• 1–2 years in a medical office, hospital, or clinical setting handling referrals.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance processes.

Responsibilities

• Process outgoing referrals and input referrals and authorizations into data systems.
• Schedule appointments with specialists, prioritizing in-network options.
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain prior authorizations as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation of referral activities in the EHR system.
• Collaborate with clinicians and care managers to coordinate care.
