Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• At least 1 year clerical experience
• Experience in authorizing referrals
• Completion of clerical training program (if applicable)

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient referrals with providers.
• Obtain pre-certification and/or authorization from insurance or MCOs/HMOs/PPOs.
• Ensure referral forms include accurate ICD/CPT coding and complete documentation.
• Schedule appointments and coordinate with patients within provider and contracting guidelines.
• Follow up on pending reports/communication and ensure timely filing.
