Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associate's degree preferred.
• 0-1 years related work experience required.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with computer systems including web-based applications and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
• Working knowledge of Medical Terminology preferred.
• Prior experience in a hospital or health care environment strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with Admission Facilitators to assign patient beds based on clinical necessity and other factors.
• Enters, updates, and maintains data into electronic registration system (EPIC).
• Performs accurate data entry of death certificates using the state registry as required.
• Monitors census numbers and generates reports from the EPIC system.
• Answers multi-telephone lines politely while maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Interacts with nurses, physicians, directors, Medical Examiner, Funeral directors and Unit coordinators.
