Job summary

Xanitos, Inc. is seeking a 1st Shift Director of POA in Springfield, OR to lead the Patient Observation Assistants department and related units. The role focuses on safe, efficient patient observation services, regulatory compliance, and cost-effective operations.

Responsibilities include staffing, budgeting, audits, coaching leaders, and maintaining client relationships while driving a culture of accountability and excellence within the hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree or equivalent work experience.
• High school diploma or GED required; 2–4 years supervisory experience in EVS or service field.
• Flexibility to work some differing shifts; Windows office proficiency.
• BLS/CPR certification required; training provided by Xanitos.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise all functions of the Patient Observation Assistants department.
• Lead staff selection, onboarding, and performance management.
• Schedule staff and ensure coverage aligned with hours and positions.
• Maintain staffing levels for patient safety and service standards.
• Establish workflows, procedures, and department standards.
• Conduct QA checks and audits for patient safety and service levels.
• Ensure orientation, training, and ongoing education for staff.
• Provide coaching and leadership presence across the team.
• Manage budgets, expenses, and cost control within department.
• Maintain relationships with Nursing leadership and clients.
• Develop and manage departmental operating budgets.
• Lead department initiatives aligned with hospital goals.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and implement corrective actions.
