Job summary

TouchPoint Support Services at Ascension Seton Hays Bastrop is hiring immediately for Patient Observation Assistant roles. We offer full-time and part-time schedules with shifts from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm, and 11:30 pm to 7:30 am.

Provides visual and audible observation under a Registered Nurse, emphasizing safety and timely reporting. Requires High School diploma and CPR/BLS; prior healthcare exposure is preferred, with lifting up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent is required.
• Current CPR AED or BLS-HCP certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods. Requires bending, stooping, reaching up, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• One to two years of previous experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Visually and audibly monitors the assigned patient's condition and behavior at all times.
• Completes observation reports at established interval.
• Remains at the bedside of assigned patient at all times unless relieved by staff.
• Seeks help or advice as soon as possible when patient is in distress or poses a threat.
• Assists in keeping patient's room safe and orderly.
• Responds rapidly to emergencies and patient needs.

Education
