TouchPoint Support Services is hiring for a PATIENT OBSERVATION ASSISTANT CENTRAL TRAVELER in an on-site role at Ascension Medical Center Austin. We are offering full-time and part-time schedules with rotating weekends. The position requires high school diploma and CPR/AED certification within 30 days if required.

The rate is $16.00 per hour, with benefits for associates. Provides visual/audible observation under RN direction, maintains patient safety, completes reports, and supports the care

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent required.
• CPR/AED certification required within 30 days of hire if facility requires it.
• Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods; lift up to 50 pounds.
• One to two years of previous observation/healthcare support experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Visually and audibly monitors assigned patient condition at all times.
• Completes observation reports at established intervals.
• Provides compassionate, hospitable, supportive interactions with staff, patients and visitors.
• Stays at patient bedside unless relieved by nurse or staff member.
• Escorts patients to diagnostic testing and reports safety concerns to nurse.
• Assists with basic patient positioning and meal setup as needed.
