Job summary

TouchPoint Support Services is hiring for full-time and part-time PATIENT OBSERVATION ASSISTANT roles at Dell Seton Medical Center in Austin, TX. The position requires dedication to patient safety with observation duties under an RN, and may involve 7:00–15:30, 15:00–23:30, or 23:00–07:30 shifts.

Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED and CPR/BLS certification (within 30 days if required). Previous related experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR AED or BLS-HCP certification within 30 days of hire, if required at the facility.
• Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods; able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• One to two years of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Visually and audibly monitors the assigned patient's condition at all times.
• Completes observation reports at established intervals.
• Responds to emergencies and escalates to nursing staff as needed.
• Assists with positioning, mobility, and keeping the patient safe and orderly.
• Provides compassionate patient care under RN direction and participates in hand-offs.
