Job summary

Compass Group USA, through TouchPoint Support Services, seeks a Patient Observation Assistant at Henry Ford Providence Southfield Hospital. The role provides visual/audible patient monitoring under RN guidance, with duties spanning safety, comfort, and cooperation with care teams.

We offer full-time and part-time schedules with rotating weekends. A high school diploma is required; CPR/BLS certification within 30 days may be needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent is required.
• CPR AED or BLS-HCP certification within 30 days of hire is required at the facility.
• Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• One to two years of previous related experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitors patients visually and audibly at all times under RN direction.
• Completes observation reports at established intervals.
• Remains at the bedside unless relieved by staff.
• Assists with patient safety, comfort, and basic needs during care.
• Escorts patients during diagnostics and supports with meals as needed.
• Raises concerns to nursing staff for any safety or medical issue.
