Job summary

TouchPoint Support Services is hiring a Patient Observation Assistant to monitor patients visually and audibly under the direction of a Registered Nurse and unit manager at Henry Ford Providence Southfield Hospital. The role requires standing/walking for extended periods, with some lifting, and involves providing compassionate bedside care and timely reporting.

Full-time and part-time schedules are available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent is required.
• Current CPR AED or BLS-HCP certification required within 30 days of hire, if required at the facility.
• Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods; able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• One to two years of previous related experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitors the assigned patient visually and audibly at all times.
• Completes observation reports at established intervals.
• Maintains bedside presence and responds to patient needs with compassion.
• Escalates to nursing staff when medical distress or safety concerns arise.
• Assists with patient safety, comfort, and daily routine tasks as directed.
