Job summary

HALO Precision Diagnostics seeks a Patient Navigator to guide patients through hereditary cancer genetic testing, provide education, coordinate care, and perform phlebotomy. This in-person role supports a multidisciplinary clinical team in Gilbert, AZ, with a Monday–Friday schedule.

You will be the primary contact for patients and partner sites, manage scheduling, insurance verifications, and EMR documentation while upholding HIPAA standards. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

• Nationally certified phlebotomist with venipuncture skills.
• 2+ years of clinical experience (front or back office).
• 2+ years with insurance verification and prior authorizations.
• Current BLS certification.
• Experience with diagnostic or genetic specimen collection.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Guide patients through hereditary cancer genetic testing from start to finish.
• Provide education on testing, procedures, and next steps.
• Serve as the primary patient contact to ensure a supportive experience.
• Conduct structured patient consultations for clarity and accuracy.
• Build relationships with partner site staff, providers, and clinical teams.
• Support daily workflow integration with partner clinics.
• Adapt to changing clinic needs while maintaining service quality.
• Own patient cases, scheduling, follow-ups, and coordination.
• Identify and resolve barriers to testing or completion.
• Ensure timely callbacks and consistent communication with patients and partners.
• Perform venipuncture and collect blood specimens for genetic testing.
• Ensure proper patient identification, labeling, handling, and transport of specimens.
• Follow all clinical protocols, safety standards, and HIPAA compliance.
• Maintain accurate documentation in EMR/EHR systems.
• Build expertise in genetic testing workflows, insurance processes, and patient eligibility.
• Support insurance verification and authorization processes as needed.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and accurate data entry.
• Confidently answer patient questions regarding testing and next steps.
• Create a welcoming, professional, and supportive environment for patients.
• Respond to patient concerns with empathy and clarity.
• Identify and help resolve barriers such as scheduling or insurance issues.
• Support creative solutions to improve patient completion and outcomes.
