Job summary

HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital seeks a Monitor Technician to support the unit by monitoring surveillance of cardiac rhythms and communicating patient needs to caregivers. The role involves observing vital changes and reporting significant events to the nurse or Charge Nurse.

You will admit and discharge patients from the monitoring system, maintain telemetry logs, and manage telemetry monitor inventory. Two full-time shifts (days 7a-7p, nights 7p-7a) are available, with weekend requirements.

Qualifications

• Previous Monitor Tech or Telemetry Tech experience preferred.
• You must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• EKG training is preferred.
• Healthcare or clinical setting experience is preferred.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of start.

Responsibilities

• Observe changes in heart rate or rhythm and report to nurse.
• Admit/discharge patients from the monitoring system.
• Maintain telemetry log books accurately.
• Manage the inventory of telemetry transmitter monitors.

Job Summary And Qualifications

As a Monitor Technician, you will assist the nurse and/or physician in providing support to the unit as assigned and supervised by the nurse. In this important role, you will monitor surveillance and documentation of cardiac rhythms and will provide communication of patient needs to the appropriate caregiver.

What you will do in this role:

• You will observe for changes in heart rate, rhythm, or other centrally monitored parameters, reporting significant events to the nurse or Charge Nurse.
• You will admit/discharge patients from monitoring system.
• You will maintain accurate telemetry transmitter monitor log books.
• You will manage the inventory of telemetry transmitter monitors.

What qualifications you will need:

• Previous Monitor Tech or Telemetry Tech experience highly preferred
• You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Specialty training is preferred specifically in EKGs.
• Preferred prior experience in healthcare or clinical setting
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
