Job summary

HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital is seeking a Patient Monitor Tech to monitor cardiac rhythms and support nurses in patient care. The role requires observation of heart rate and rhythm, accurate documentation, and communication with caregivers, with shifts including days and nights and a weekend expectation.

Ideal candidates have prior monitor/telemetry experience, a high school diploma, and Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of start date.

Qualifications

• Previous Monitor Tech or Telemetry Tech experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Specialty training in EKGs preferred.
• Prior healthcare/clinical experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support within 30 days of start date requirement.

Responsibilities

• Observe changes in heart rate, rhythm, or other monitored parameters and report significant events to the nurse or Charge Nurse.
• Admit/discharge patients from monitoring system.
• Maintain telemetry transmitter monitor log books with accuracy.
• Manage inventory of telemetry transmitter monitors.

HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital is located outside of Jacksonville FL in the suburb of Orange Park FL and is located on Kingsley Avenue.

We have 2 positions available: full-time days (7a to 7p) and full-time nights (7p to 7a). Both have expectation of working at least one shift every other weekend.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Monitor Technician, you will assist the nurse and/or physician in providing support to the unit as assigned and supervised by the nurse. In this important role, you will monitor surveillance and documentation of cardiac rhythms and will provide communication of patient needs to the appropriate caregiver.

What you will do in this role:

• You will observe for changes in heart rate, rhythm, or other centrally monitored parameters, reporting significant events to the nurse or Charge Nurse.

• You will admit/discharge patients from monitoring system.

• You will maintain accurate telemetry transmitter monitor log books.

• You will manage the inventory of telemetry transmitter monitors.

What qualifications you will need:

• Previous Monitor Tech or Telemetry Tech experience highly preferred

• You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

• Specialty training is preferred specifically in EKGs.

• Preferred prior experience in healthcare or clinical setting

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
