Job summary

HCA Florida Gulf Coast Hospital is seeking a Monitor Technician to join our team. You will perform EKG monitoring and interpretation, maintain records, and assist nursing staff to ensure unit efficiency. You will also orient new staff and support patient care with excellent service.

Qualified candidates will interpret cardiac rhythms, report changes promptly, and follow Standard Precautions while using telemetry documentation systems.

Qualifications

• Completion of Basic EKG/Arrhythmia course and ability to interpret rhythms.
• BS-level knowledge of medical terminology and hospital charting practices.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Interpret Rhythms and Arrhythmias.
• Report changes in heart rate/rhythm to nursing staff.
• Maintain Telemetry Supplies.
• Record patient condition using computerized systems.
• Orient and mentor new staff members.
• Adhere to age-specific care factors and Standard Precautions.

Job Summary And Qualifications

We are currently seeking a Monitor Technician to join our team. As our Monitor Tech you will perform a variety of duties including EKG monitoring and interpretation, compiling, transcribing, preparing and maintaining records for your unit. You will also provide information and communication services to visitors and staff and assist nursing staff in maintaining efficient operations on the unit. • You will interpret Rhythms and Arrhythmias.
• You will report all changes in heart rate/rhythm to appropriate nursing staff.
• You will maintain Telemetry Supplies.
• You will record patient condition utilizing computerized documentation systems.
• You will perform duties with full understanding of related age specific factors.
• You will orient and mentor new staff members.
• You will follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Qualifications

• BLS Healthcare Provider
• Completion of Basic EKG/Arrhythmia course. Demonstrated ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and arrhythmias
• Working knowledge of medical terminology
• CMT/Cardiac Experience Preferred
• Experience as a monitor tech in a hospital setting preferred
• Customer service abilities including effective listening skills
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
